What is Autism? Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurological and developmental disorder that can affect how people communicate, learn, and interact with others. It is typically characterized by impairments in communication, socialization, and life skills and can often include repetitive and stereotypic patterns of behaviors. The severity of autism can vary from individual to individual. Medical professionals, such as but not limited to pediatricians, psychologists, and neurologists, can diagnose an individual with autism based on the observations of an individual's communication, social interactions, interests, and activities.

What is ABA therapy? Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is a scientific and evidence-based therapy that helps individuals with autism and other developmental disorders learn new skills and manage their behaviors. ABA therapy helps individuals with autism and other developmental disorders learn how to communicate, interact with others, and learn essential life skills to help them become independent behavior. ABA therapy also helps decrease maladaptive behaviors by teaching replacement behaviors.
